Bouwer to address local women

MASERU — A South African businesswoman and former actress, Carol Bouwer, is billed to address local women at a gala dinner at Maseru Sun next Saturday.

The dinner has been organised by a local events company, Young Musician Emporium, in collaboration with Pioneer Shopping Centre.

Kopano Alotsi, from Young Musician Emporium, said the dinner is an all-women social event that seeks to “empower women in business”.

“Carol is not only a businesswoman but a motivational speaker so she will be addressing women on success in business.

“There will be other speakers to motivate women,” he said.

“The event is organised to celebrate women during their month and we are planning to make it an annual gathering where women will get a platform to exchange ideas.”

Her Majesty Queen ’Masenate Mohato Seeiso will be the guest of honour.

Tšitso Rantaoleng from Pioneer Mall said the idea behind the event is to uplift and empower women entrepreneurs in Lesotho.

“We realised that the business sector is male-dominated and every successful woman is in most cases attached to a successful man,” said Rantaoleng.

“The event is to let local women hear from a woman who has been in business how she broke barriers and how they can also reach their potential in business.”

He said the entry fee has been pegged at M250 which includes dinner and goodie bags.

“Women like to take care of themselves so there will be goodie bags which will include make-up and other feminine products,” he said.

‘Mapule Mosiuoa and a South Africa-based disc jockey, Shaxe, from OFM, will provide the entertainment.

“The event will also have music for the ladies to socialise and just have fun.”
