More exciting retail brands for Lesotho

MASERU – Five new shops opened their doors at Pioneer Mall on Thursday.

The stores are Edgars, Jet, Fashion Express, Legit and Exact.

Edgar’s regional operations manager, Paul Beneckhe, said they decided to open another shop after realising that Edgars Active, which was opened last year, was doing well.

“Edgars Active was a success so due to that we made a decision to bring Edgars Store which is a family store that caters for everyone,” he said.

He said they had employed 22 Basotho permanently with 18 others were engaged as casuals for the Pioneer and Maseru Mall stores.

The shop at Maseru Mall is expected to be opened at the end of the month.

Exact manager, Phillip Monyalotsa, said he was pleased with the market’s response.

“The opening of our new store in Lesotho was amazing as people came in large numbers.

This is our first store to be opened in Lesotho and I am looking forward to working with Basotho,” Monyalotsa said.

He said they have employed six Basotho.

Limpho Matšoha, who was among the shoppers, said the new shops will bring variety to Basotho.

“This is what we have been waiting for, having a variety when you do shopping not being restricted to one shop.

There is no need for us to travel to Bloemfontein for shopping because we have the stores here,” she said.

“Now I enjoy shopping because I can do my shopping for grocery and clothing under one roof, I don’t have to travel around.

I will do my summer shopping right here, everything I need for the summer,” said Sophia Marquez.

Lineo Matlosa said she was a big fan of Edgars Stores as it has “good quality clothes at an affordable price”.
