Likila United stunned LCS 2-0 at LCS Ground at the weekend to register only their second win of the 2015/16 Vodacom Premier League season.
The Butha-Buthe side were outstanding in their premiership debut last season, but have found the going tough so far this campaign. Before the convincing win over Masheshena on Saturday, Likila had drawn one match and lost three times and only collected maximum points for the Mphalatsane tie which did not take place last month after the latter failed to produce players’ licences before the match.
In another maiden win of the season, Liphakoe edged Sundawana 1-0 in Butha-Buthe on Friday. Liphakoe have now won once, drawn four times and lost once, which is a decent return for the premier league rookies.
The other shock of the weekend saw Kick4Life beat Linare 1-0 in Hlotse on Saturday. This was the team’s second win of the 2015/16 season, following two draws and two losses in their previous ties.
On Saturday, Matlama beat LDF 2-0 at Ratjomose Barracks, while Likhopo edged Bantu 1-0 the previous day.
Second-placed Likhopo and log-leaders Lioli are the only unbeaten teams six matches into the league campaign.
Lioli, on the other hand, on Saturday beat Mphatlalatsane 2-0 at Setsoto stadium, through goals by Tšoanelo Koetle and Bafokeng Mosala to make it five wins and one draw this campaign.
On Friday, Rovers beat struggling LMPS 1-0 at PTC Ground to continue with their good form since returning to topflight football this season. The National University of Lesotho (NUL) outfit are fourth on the table with eleven points in the bag.
