BEAUTY queen, Mojabeng Senekal has lined up modelling classes on Saturdays at Sefika High School beginning on the 27th of May.
The classes will be for girls as young as eight years up to 17 year-olds.
The 23-year old, who holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the National University of Lesotho, has won several beauty pageants which stand her in good stead to impart knowledge and skills in the industry.
She clinched the Charity Award at the Face of Beauty International 2015 in October 2016 in Taipei, Taiwan. She was the Face of Lesotho 2015, Miss Personality 2014, Miss Royalty 2014 and Miss NUL 2015. She was also a runner-up in the Face of KO 2014 pageant.
She has also been hosting modelling boot-camps since 2015 and has also trained individuals such as Miss Lesotho Sunday Express 2017, Mpoi Mahao as well as the Face of Lesotho 2017, Michelle Tau.
Senekal will represent Lesotho at the Miss Africa Continent 2017 pageant in Rwanda this August.
The Butha Buthe-born beauty said the idea of holding the lessons was due to the high demand from girls wishing to learn from her.
“The annual (boot) camp has been progressing well and I have been teaching 5 models for the past 2 months so now I want to teach more because I believe these girls just need the correct coaching and our country will produce the best,” she told the Weekender this week.
“I have been getting many requests to help upcoming models with skills to win pageants and to become super models.
“I have also been tasked by different pageant organisers to train the contestants during their competitions and the list includes Miss Lesotho 2016 and 2017, Face of Lesotho 2017, Miss NUL 2016, Miss NHTC 2015, Miss Agric College 2016, Miss Butha-Buthe 2014 and Miss Likila Football Club 2014.
“I have an eye for good work and so far my personal training has produced some of our best queens.”
She said the training will enable the girls to distinguish between model and pageantry walk, answer questions, apply makeup as well as choose the right outfits for different events and draw up proposals for sponsorship.
