The two were sleeping at night when their hut was set on fire by unknown people.

Acting police spokesperson ‘Mantolo Mothibeli confirmed the incident.

She said the charred bodies of the two were only discovered by other villagers in the morning.

Furniture in the house had also been completely destroyed.

Another 43-year-old woman was shot and killed in her home in the same village the same night before her body was burnt to ashes.

The body was found the following morning on the door step to her house.

The deceased were related but lived in different places.
